Tri-generation

Trigeneration is a  combination of heat, power and cooling (CHPC). The process is including heat produced by a cogeneration plant to generate chilled water for air conditioning or refrigeration. An absorption type chiller is connected to the combined heat and power (CHP) to provide chilled water for cooling or industrial processes.

Trigeneration systems supply energy in three forms:

1. Electricity
2. Heating
3. Chilled water for ACs and Industrial processes

Absorption chillers provide an economical and environmental alternative to conventional refrigeration. Combining efficiency, low emission power generation equipment with absorption chillers allows for maximum total fuel efficiency, elimination of harmful refrigerants and reduced overall air emissions.

Combining a CHP or cogeneration plant with an absorption chiller system allows a combined utilisation of heat for cooling. The hot water from the cooling circuit of the plant serves as drive energy for the absorption chiller. This system setup can increase the overall efficiency of the cogeneration plant significantly.
